do it this way in macro shots, where a slight shift in relative
subject to camera angle has a large effect on where the plain of focus
ends up.
For macro, you are actually better off to focus the lens, and then find the focus point by moving the rig.
Obviously, this is done in stages, but the final tweak is moving the rig rather than the focus.
