But... and here I lay myself out for attack... :) The finer details and the
technical nuances do not a good picture make (not saying they don't have the
potential to make may one it better). In the end, as with many things in
life, it's the big picture, the entire composition that often wins out...

To most people (including many music execs) an average off the shelf HiFi
sounds great too, however if your ear is tuned they generally sound like
crap.
Same with photography, being a professional doesn't mean you automatically
appreciate the finer details.
