Ahh, a refined character. I took a bottle of French white up to dinner in
my photo-vest pocket, thinking that people in the US have a little sip or
two with some food. I was the *only* guy in the place with alcohol...

You must have stepped int a time warp or something!
Americans, in the U.S. anyhow, DO sip with supper!
'Most anywhere you go, family restaurant, whatever, has wine and beer on the menu.
Well, to be fair, some states, or maybe counties, do not.
And some have Blue Sunday laws, stuff like that... but they are far and away the exception.


It stayed in my pocket, gaining temperature all the time, until later
back at camp.

Aw, that's a pity! Unless it was Chablis, that is... there IS no good temperature for Chablis!
