According to the specifications on the Pentax website, the *ist DS needs an USB 2.0 port. If that's correct I couldn't connect it to my almost 2 year old iMac, which has USB 1.5.8 ports. In that case I would have to buy a new computer too, when buying the *ist DS. What a splendid digital world! Or have I got it wrong?
