Subtitute "consumer's interest" with "consumer's intelligence" and I agree
with it totally. People are not necessarily dumb just because their interest
in photography does not extend to the technical side of the medium.
Conversely, knowledge of same does not equate intelligence.
Probably just a matter of "degree of interest". Otherwise we would all be
members of MENSA. <g>
