I very much like the Heliopan hoods, expensive as they my be. Much to my chagrin, the source I had (SpeedGraphic in the UK) no longer carries them, and I've never been able to find them here in the US. However, over the years I've discovered that hoods from different cameras will work great on certain lenses, such as the lens for the Contax G-series 90mm lens on the Leica 90mm Elmarit ... One combination that I used for the A*200/2.8 and the A*300/4.0 was a 77mm Heliopan tele hood with a Nikon HN-28 screwed into it. Talk about a lens hood affording good protection from flare ;-)) and from the sun creeping into the frame.
