The building is the rear of the surf patrol tower at Tamarama Beach, unfortunately I don't have a shot of it but you can see a pretty average pic of it here: http://www.vergenet.net/~horms/gallery/clem/auto/r0010378_small.shtml Thanks to all who commented, I was aware of the flare in this shot it was just impractical to exclude and yes the sun is more of a problem just out of the frame when using the *ist D but it's generally not too difficult to manage.
