This must be the season of our discontent here on the pdml.

But seriously, as "sexist jokes" go, that one was pretty tame. I'm not
saying it may not be offensive to some, but I don't see why it would offend
women in general. Of course, I'm a man, so what do I know but I don't think
that he inferred in his post that all women are available ahh mmm, for rent.
Unless that is how you took it, I don't really see the grounds for taking
offence. If you're going to argue, however that no woman would ever be
available for the purpose stated in Gerald's post, then that's another
story. Are you prepare to argue that point?

I don't even see this as a gender/sexist issue because I'm sure, without any
first hand knowledge of course, that both men and women had been and would
probably continue to be employed in this fashion. That may be a sad
commentary of society in general but se la vie.

To speak out againts a harsh comment directed at a fellow contributor is one
thing. To get bent out of shape over a comment directed to no one in
particular is another matter altogether. I hope you don't purport to speak
on behalf of all the female members as implied in the last paragraph of your
post. I'm sure that everyone is very capable of speaking for themselves on
this list. Men and women alike.
