Thanks for the comment, Ann.

And, yeah, I'll take you there.  Queen West is one of
my favourite places in Toronto for taking pix.  It's
not very near where I live, but it's a fun street car
(our term for trams) ride away.

It's a neighbourhood in transition.  A few years ago,
it was really dumpy and ugly, populated by homeless
shelters, used appliance stores, and the junkiest
antique stores you've ever seen.  Since there were so
many abandoned storefronts, and the rent was so cheap,
starving artists started moving in, setting up small
galleries and living above them.

Now the old factories are being converted into upscale
yuppie lofts, some big expensive art galleries are
moving in.  But, there's enough of the old shabby
stuff there that there's an amazing mix of ramshackle
and urban chic - both in buildings and people.
