But as far as I know, the rest of the info holds - PayPal has no affiliate in Russian Federatin, therefore your "pal" cannot withdraw paypal payment. Except the skullduggery types of sending money hidden in the stuffing of an envelope (see Cotty's ? post), Western Union could be your bet. I don't like them personally because they are pretty expensive but I used them in a pinch. And I certainly know that lot of people from Russia/... working semi-legally in the EU use WU to send their money home. I would even think it's the main revenuce of WU here. From experience from friends dealing with Russian Federation, just sending money in an envelope isn't safe. Well, it isn't safe even in our country, and we are member of European Union now.
