broadband doesn't help that much when your web site is several hundred megabytes and there is no way to upload just the changes.
Well, I have 1.1GB of images online and I don't experience the problems you describe... probably because I'm not trying to do what you want to do. :-) It sounds like Gallery isn't the solution to your particular problem, but I'll continue to recommend it as a good general-purpose online gallery system, with a few caveats.
