On 21/1/04, [EMAIL PROTECTED] disgorged: >With our money the BBC is currently producing I think 7 TV channels (not >all are 24-hour and you need digital to receive 5 of them) plus a large >number of radio channels. It's worth more than twice that! Some of the best programming in the world, and a news and current affairs network that is second to none. Not to denigrate any other country's TV - some of my favourite TV ever comes from the USA (Star Trek, ER (just starting up again tonight- yippee), The Larry Sanders Show(!), and some of the documentaries are outstanding. We have a radio news prog that airs at 5pm weekdays here called 'PM' and is fronted by a very dry Scotsman, the up and coming Eddie Mair. It's worth a listen to see how a lot of Brits hear their news: Listen live online (1700 GMT): <http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/> I think he's a scream.
