Ok, so I've just done a little experiment.  If you click on this link - you
will find some thumbnails of an image.  The original is the one in colour.
Each version of the image was converted to grayscale (greyscale to the
Northerners) using the methods that each respective PDML'er has posted.
Click and compare...
