Hi, Peter It used to be the other way around with Pentax and flashes. The new, digital flashes can damage older TTL-houses (eg. AF500FTZ on LX), but not the other way around. I have used my old AF400T on both MZ-S and 645NII, but not yet on the *istD. It puzzles me a bit that the manual doesn't mention flash compatibility.
