They seem to be doing their jobs as competently as possible under the circumstances. The company does have serious problems, though. Deliberately, there is no way to get in touch with it by post or an email address that is going to get past a gatekeeper, probably mechanised. If there was another option, I would take it. As I pointed out to Bob W., off list, there is virtually no possibility that BT will ever get its version of broadband off the ground in my area.
