I hate to say this...but I don't think my Dad needs an LX. Actually, I
think he'd be really really happy with an MZ-5 or 3 or 5n, since they're
so similar in control to his Spotmatic but will also give him AF and AE
when he wants them. The first thing I thought of when I saw the MZ-5
for the first time was that it was a camera designed to get my Dad to
buy an AF body. I think that it was very much a play for the hearts of
us old-school Pentaxers (and it almost got me...but instead I bought a 67).
The MZ-5/5n/3 are fantabulously designed.
