Oh, while this is far from the biggest lens I've shot from
a moving vehicle that I was driving, I do feel like mentioning
the _first_: A Brownie while riding my bicycle, in 7th or 8th
grade. Still have a print of it somewhere -- not sure whether
I can find the negative.
(I wanted a shot of the motion-blurred pavement through sharp
handlebars. I more or less got it. I was also experimenting
with panning, trying to get my brother in his bike. Not terribly
interesting photos when all is said and done, but it does remind
me of some of the ways I'd been thinking about photography both
then and now. "What happens if I do this?" "Wouldn't it be a
cool effect to...?" "What's the difference between the way I
_see_ this and how it usually looks in pictures?" I wanted an
SLR and control over my shutter speed so badly then. (Not sure
which I wanted more -- the WYSIWYG aspect of the SLR or the
control that I could also have gotten from a rangefinder more
sophisticated than my Brownie.) Finally, a quarter century
later...)
