The portrait is lovely, natural looking, perhaps less overly sharp than other test shots, but this is with the FA* 200 mm macro, perhaps the sharpest lens in the history of the world, which makes one wonder what the sharpness factor will be like with lesser lenses.
The macro of the yellow pepper (Chairman Kaga's favorite!) is a little soft, they could have stopped down a little more, but is not as sharp as I would expect an in studio macro shot would be, what with ideal lighting and all.
The night scene, with the new 18 - whatever zoom, is quite nice, but needed stopping down a bit further; the disavantage of shooting wide angle with no depth of field scale. There is only so much you can see through a tiny slr viewfinder, and the leaves in the foreground are a bit soft.
All in all, the shots are a bit curious; is this really as good as it gets? I know they are only 2 - 4 meg jpegs on the net, but I printed them as 300 DPI TIFFS 10" on the longest side (resampled at same number of pixels). Before jumping on this thing, I will personally be waiting to see some real world results and further testing. These shots are not as impressive as others I have seen from other DSLR's.
A bit disappointed, but hopeful after waiting all this friggin' time, Cameron
