You are not only wrong, you are an ass. The quality a lab puts out is controlled by the people operating the equipment, and this has little bearing on the price point the lab runs at. You stand as good a chance of having your film ruined by a tech who has come to work pissed off that he didn't get laid the night before at an expensive lab as anywhere else. I have been working at a Wal-Mart (cheap processing) lab for 6 years, and have processed close to a half million rolls of film while there. I can count on one hand the number of times I have had to tell a customer that we damaged their film. My previous employer was a specialty lab run by a cheap prick. We charged pro rates and scratched every film that went through the processor because the moron that ran the place wouldn't pay for needed parts to fix the machinery.
