There is a drive-in in Lexington that almost went out of business, but a group of local folks organized a fundraiser to save it. It's now self-sufficient again. One difference here is that there is plenty of other land available, so the owners aren't tempted to make a bunch of $$$ by selling it.
BTW, the name is "Hull's Drive-In", so the group was callled "Hull's Angels".
