Although I'm not craving for a digital camera by any means, I'm reasonably certain that I will buy one in the next year or 2. Since I have very little Pentax equipment left, switching brands has not been a consideration. But nothing much out there has appealed to me. Although I quite liked Cotty's Canon it felt too big for me, and I've no desire for Canon lenses. Ditto the Nikon digitals and of course the Contax is just a joke. This little Pentax, assuming it's reasonably priced, maintains their tradition of small, well-specified cameras like the MX, but takes them into the digital age. I can see it being an enormous success for them. As things stand it would be my first choice to look closely at if I was obliged to buy a digital camera in the short-term. I'd kick the tyres of that 'effective' word in front of megapixels, though. Like Mike and others here the viewfinder magnification and coverage is a very important factor in camera choice to me, so I'm rather impressed by the coverage and mag. of this one. Assuming it does actually see the light of day, that is... --- Bob
