Relax. Digital cameras don't use all the pixels in their CCDs, keeping some outside the picture area in order to obtain a dark reference. "Effective Megapixels" means they're being honest enough to just count the pixels within the picture area, rather than the slightly greater number of *total* megapixels. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
