As the Pentax-M 28/3.5 was also available as a XR Rikenon with a 52mm filter size I was wondering: could the Rikenon 24mm be a rebadged Pentax (without SMC)?
Putting the two lenses side by side, they appear to be different. For starters, the Rikenon has 6 aperture blades, vs 5 in the Pentax. While they both take 52mm filters, the actual glass in the Rikenon is smaller than the Pentax. The coatings are very noticeably different - almost no reflection off the front of the Pentax, a fair amount off the front of the Ricoh. Lastly, the Rikenon focuses a few inches closer.

I had not heard that the Pentax M 28 f3.5 was co-branded as a Rikenon. Was the Riknon also an f3.5? I have a Rikenon 28mm f2.8, and it's a very good lens.
