I guess I will be the curmudgeon in this thread.  I have owned and
used (admittedly infrequently) but ultimately sold one K 30/2.8
(complete with its dedicated Pentax hard case and its original
shipping box).  I didn't use it too much, even though I did find it
to be quite a good lens.  However, I did not find it to be as good
as the K 28/2 or the K 35/2.  It might have been a wee bit better
than the A 28/2 and the A 35/2, but not enough to make it worth
packing just for that - after all, the K 30/2.8 performs "very
poorly" at f/2 (<g>).  And, although the Pentax catalogs of the time
made a big deal about how important a 30mm lens would be in a
shooter's arsenal, I personally didn't find much of a gap that
needed filling between 28mm and 35mm (although I guess I am not
really much of a w/a sort of guy).  And, I simply may not be as
discriminating as you guys are.  So, while I am glad you guys are
enjoying your K 30/2.8 so much, I myself just do not miss mine...
