Well, it's Super Sunday, and I'm pulling for the Raider Nation, mostly
because of Tim Brown (Notre Dame boy) and Jerry Rice (who's glory years
were with Joe Montana who went to - oh yeah - Notre Dame!). Only 8
hours to game time!!

On to other topics:

Glenn, I must say, you've inspired me. The coffee shop that I frequent,
the Jet Fuel (Toronto's best espresso coffee, and the cheapest, too!)
shows artists on a monthly basis. I've been screwing up the courage to
put together a portfolio, and talk to the proprietor, but now I'll have
to. I keep telling myself that I can do better than some of the crap
that's been up on his wall over the last year or two, and this is the
time for me to get serious!

One of my bike courier friends who is also an installation artist, lives
in an old storefront in rather run down area of town called Parkdale.
In the last couple of years it's become populated by various artists,
along with some shabby (and now not so shabby) art galleries. Scott (my
friend) offers his front window for "budding artists", and I'll be
showing a few pieces in May - it's not a very large storefront, so
there's probably room for about 4 8x10's, nicely framed. This is
actually pretty cool, because May is Contact month here in Toronto,
which is sort of a photo festival - lots of big exhibitions and the
like. Obviously my little showing won't be sanctioned, but the timing
is wonderful, and there are other "real" galleries on his block, some of
which will have sanctioned exhibitions, so who knows who will see my
stuff? One never knows...

I don't expect to sell anything (I won't even have prices on them), but
it'll be cool just to be "out there".

Today I awoke to a very cold apartment, with no hot water. Obviously
the boiler room's broken down. I must run off to the Jet Fuel, warm up
with a Latte or two, and talk to Johnny the owner. There's no time like
the present.

Hopefully, I'll return to a warm apartment to watch the Raiders kick
butt!

cheers,
frank
