add money and you can get what you want. More ME SUPERS can be purchased
on the second hard market on ebay usually for under $100 bucks. My absolute favorite
of the classics is the Super
Program (in the US) or Program A (elsewhere).
They are much in demand and usually run around $125 or so. IT will be happy
with your lenses, but unless you have "Pentax-A" lenses you won't get into the
program mode as the lense must be
put in the 'A' mode to get the program mode and if your lense has no 'A' mode,
well.....

The real genuine improvement of the Super Program over the ME super has to do with
the flash system. The Super
Program supports TTL dedicated flashes
which implies that if you have (or buy) a later model flash whose number ends in a T,
such as the AF-200T or the
AF-280T (or either of the Pentax dedicated Ring lights -- the older AF 080 or the
AF 140, you can put them in
the TTL mode
which basicly means you can turn them on and forget them, and the TTL sensor inside
the camera will signal the flash
when it has flashed enough.

If you are not nostalgic for the classic, and want to put out the bread for new,
the ZX-5n is the way to go. The cheaper ZX30/50 are busted and won't work
with your Pentax-M style lenses. After my ME of 25 years got stolen, and my K2 of 25
years died, I went wild and
bought an ZX-5 (a predecessor of the ZX-5n),
an ME Super and a Super program and I use all of them, though the ME super is the
least used of the three.

A real downside of these new auto focus/integrated winder cameras is the noise.
The auto winder/auto focus will scare off a herd of elk at 300 yards, and in the case
of the auto focus--before you
even get the first picture.

Never mind if you are trying to take a decreet photo and it happens to be the last one
on the roll and the stupid
winder then rewinds the film while you are looking for a pillow to put over the
camera, and about 300 people have
turned their heads
to stare at you while you look for the pillow where there is none.
