It wouldn't have been there in 3, since although forms were introduced in Acrobat 3, JavaScript wasn't introduced till 3.5...

True, I am looking at the Acro6 version of the docs....Can't locate my older copy :(.
I'd checked in version 5, there's no Reader limit noted...
When Reader 6 was released I'd post a message here complaining about this "bug". Someone (Dov ???) replies that this function was removed for (Windows) security reasons...
