This is a "feature" in Acrobat 5 viewers (Acrobat, Approval, Reader), which does check for the version number of the document it opens. Whenever it encounters PDF version 1.5 (and higher), it will plop up this message.
The workaround would be one additional last step before deploying the document, and that would be using the PDF Optimizer in Acrobat 6 Professional and clean up the document (which might not hurt at all anyway) and to write it out as PDF version 1.4 (for Acrobat 5 compatibilty) or PDF version 1.3 (for Acrobat 4 compatibility). Note that it would be _your_ responsibility to make sure that JavaScripts are compatible for the according version (as the Optimizer does not know how to "downgrade" JavaScript functionality.

Help - we have been getting complaints from some of our clients that this message is appearing when they try to open a PDF we have sent them created in Acrobat PRO 6.0. They do not want to have their employees getting this message. How can I eliminate it permanently for any and all documents?
