You might consider a Template to be an object in Acrobat with a given name and a certain set of properties. It actully comes along as a page.
Now, to create a Template, you create that particular page, enhance it as far as it is needed in Acrobat, and test it so that everything within itself works. Then you define it to become a Template. You already found where you do that. If that page is not the only page in the document, you can hide it, otherwise, you will have it visible. There is actually no difference between a visible page defined as a template and a visible page not defined as a template.
However, when you spawn a page from a template, you essentially create a visible copy of the template page. Depending on the arguments in the spawning command, the fields on that newly created document get a unique field name, etc.
Hmmmm... and that is essentially already what a Template is...

I need help with a form, where I have to insert a template. Up to now, I
have defined the page, on which the template should be based as template page,
what I think was the reason, that my original page was hidden with the spawned
template of this page. I think, I haven't really understand up to now, how
templates really work. When I will leave my original form as it is, and like
to have a template page in the background, from which I can make a spawn page
when I need it, what does I have to do? Thank you very much in advance.
