Max,

I "used" to have a client who used Microsoft Publisher to prepare a
newsletter that I printed. Even with a PS driver and the Distiller PPD, it
made a PRN file. By changing the extention to .ps, it "became" a PS file.

It was the sillyist and darndest thing which I never understood.
Fortunately, that client has moved on. I won't bother sharing the story
about Broderbund Print Shop which ought to be banned from the face of the
earth, but the results were the same.

Hmmm... interesting advice. I have a few problems following it, but that
might be me...

A .prn file is the windows "standard" file for a file created by the
selected printer driver, for being fed to the printer.

Now, as we are working with a PostScript interpreter for creating a PDF
(that is Distiller...), the .prn file would have to _be_ PostScript.

Maybe your adviser was mixing up "EPS" (Encapsulated PostScript) and "PS"
(PostScript).

Hope, this can help.
