Peter,
When you edit fields in pdf and then just do a regular "Save", it adds the objects and still retains the original objects. Do a "Save As" and you should see the size come down considerably. Depending on how many fields you have, it could still be sizable and you probably won't see the 35K size again with it authored.

BUT, when I start *editing* the form's "Field Properties", the file starts growing to huge proportions. e.g., after renaming one field name, the PDF file went from 35k to 100k! Further edits of this seemingly trivial nature increased the size to 150 and 200k. :( Now the PDF file has become so large as to render it nearly useless as an online downloadable file. Is there any workaround for controling or reducing this balooning of the file size? PS. I can send the PDF file to this list, if needed (currently 66k, using labor intensive tricks). -- Regards, Peter Reaper To change your subscription: http://www.pdfzone.com/discussions/lists-pdfforms.html. |
