Leonardo,
I merge the FDF on the PDF using FDFMerge Application which works fine. This
application is also called via this asp file. Everything is working fine all
together except saving the final (flattened) pdf file that uses the query
string as default file name. I cannot find a way to get rid of this default
file name?

Anna,
In response to your comment, I have to mention that it is possible to call a
Text formatted FDF file via your web script (ASP or cfm) to call a PDF File
(using /F form.pdf command line) and fill the fields in the form (by using
/T (Name) /V (Value) command). However, in this way, as Leonardo mentioned,
you cannot save the populated form via Acrobat Reader, as it will only save
the "form.pdf" file without any field values in it. You would need to
flatten it some how (preferrablly on the server side), and I found FDFMerge
application (Lite version) works fine. Hope this help.

Cheers
Easa

Although only somewhat related, you should know that
users
with ONLY Acrobat/Adobe Reader will NOT be able to save your
filled
in forms. If you desire that, you need to look into tools
for
                server-side forms merging.
