Get Photoshop and scan through that, you can manipulate the file size
easily from this Application. For screen res should be 72dpi, for print
300dpi

Subject: [PDF-Forms] File Size

I have a questions that is driving me crazy. How do you reduce the file
size of a PDF? I am scanning images directly into acrobat writer 5, but
the images are just too big. When I scan through PaperPort there is an
option for an Image Quality setting for a PDF that works great, but I
need to scan direct into acrobat.
I tried the distiller but even when I drop the dpi way down I still
don't get a very good reduction in file size. Also, I am scanning
hundreds of documents so hopefully there is an easy solution to my
problem that won't take up too much time between scans.
Thanks
