You need to ensure that you are using a version of Reader with the Search plugin. This site: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/alternate.html has most versions of Reader. You will need either the top one, Adobe Reader 6, full version, or the fourth one down, Acrobat Reader 5.1 with Search and Accessability.
