I agree.  Go back to version 6.5   

As I remember it was about 3 or 4 updates into version 6 before it was safe
to upgrade from version 5.  I imagine that may be the case with version 7.
I think they just released the first update for version 7 and I didn't see a
lot of improvements.  

I have version 7 Security Suite running on one computer.  With the
anti-virus and anti-spyware turned on it noticeably slows the computer down.

I recommend you go back to the previous version of ZoneAlarm. I certainly
did.
I'm using ver 6.5.737.000. I upgraded to the new ver7 and my system slowed
down considerably. The reason I don't use Norton products is because of the
performance hit, so ver7 was uninstalled pronto.

Off course maybe someone can tell you how to tweak ver7 so it doesn't make
you wade through treacle?.......
