Wally have you thought to check that a jumper is not on the 
"size limitation" pins?  A LLF is supposed to return a HD back 
to factory specs/settings (assuming the size limit is not 
jumpered).  It appears from the info below the mobo has had 
this problem in the past, so if that's the case then there must 
be something wrong with either its BIOS, or controller.  Is 
this an IDE drive?  If so, try the other IDE connector.  Or if 
it's SATA try the other SATA connector if it has one.  Also try 
to clear the CMOS if you haven't.

Have you run any diagnostics on it?
