Hi
Not quite clear what you want to do. Firstly to run 2 operating systems
as a dual boot you MUST install each operating system on a separate
partition. Next you need to have Windows 95 or 98 installed first. There
is a way to add 98 after XP but it;s complicated and doesn't always
work. To run the programs you mention it seems to me you only need the
addition of 98( they should all run in 98) but you can't install 98
without the program disk.

Hello pcworks,
I am running XP home ed. SP2 on my 1 year old laptop which has 80GB of
hard drive space. I currently do not own an external hard drive and do not
regularly
backup my stuff on an external hard drive nor on a "web" hard drive
(which is probably a sin - but I am too lazy and too cheap to do
either).
I have 3 softwares which I would like to run on my above-described
laptop. One game which requires MS-DOS (5.0 to 6.2 supported) and
another game which requires Win 95/98/ME and another design software
which requires Win 3.1,95/98.
My question is how do I run these 3 programs safely, efficiently,
economically, and "best" way if I do not own the "install CDs" for
those required operating systems. I do however have access to an oldie
computer running Win 3.1 and another oldie computer running Win 95. Is
there are a way (without violating the Microsoft license agreements)
to create "installation CD(s)" or "installation disk(s)" from these
oldie computers? I do not anticipate using much hard drive space for
these 3 programs but it is possible if I like the design program that
I will "save" data generated from the program in the future to perhaps 3-8 GB of
space. Also would it be wise to partition my laptop's hard drive (but
I prefer not to so that all 80 GB is for my installed stuff on my
laptop) or should I get an external hard drive (with how much space)
and with what connection (USB 1.0, USB 2.0, or firewire)??
Thanks in advance for your help.
