I use Firefox and Thunderbird and the only problem I ever run into is an odd cookie that may be malicious on XP. Previously I used Mozilla and Eudora and did not have a need for any of these scanners as well.
Something to consider perhaps.

I have read most of the Lists inputs on this protection subject and have selected most of those that were recommended. I know this is a very dynamic problem keeping your computer "clean" and I was asking for any further suggestions on protecting my setup. As a side note I took Keith's suggestion and updated Spybot to 1.3.

I am using XP Pro with DSL and a router (linksys WRT54G). I also have
Ad-Aware Personal SE 1.05 but lost the Plus package that gives you
Ad-Watch. Not really sure if need it and I also have Sygate firewall. I
also have Spybot 1.2 but I am uneasy with deleting all that it finds
sometimes. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
