I'm not proposing anything, really. My only point is that it would be a very big mistake for us to follow this policy to the letter at the expense of delaying this new GC. How we avoid making that mistake is a matter for the community to decide. I also don't think we should get rid of the policy entirely. We do need to have some kind of policy for the sake of our users. The policy we have now, as written, is used to hurt our users as often as it is used to help them.
