I see. I have .../pan/pan2/po$ msgfmt -V msgfmt (GNU gettext-tools) 0.14.4 Copyright (C) 1995-1998, 2000-2005 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Written by Ulrich Drepper. That is clearly a version difference. I've been looking for documentation about the .po file format to see what those lines starting with #~| msgid are supposed to mean. But if this http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/gettext.html#PO-Files is the official documentation, then those lines are indeed in error. If they are supposed to be some comment, then there should be a space directly after the #. -Olaf. -- ___ Olaf 'Rhialto' Seibert -- The Doctor: No, 'eureka' is Greek for \X/ rhialto/at/xs4all.nl -- 'this bath is too hot.'
