To help things along (and still unable to spend much time on it), I cloned pan2 to github at https://github.com/Rhialto/pan2 and made two new branches:
- pkgsrc-joerg contains the patches from jo...@netbsd.org which were in pkgsrc for a while. I manually 'rebased' them to the current git version. I hope I didn't introduce any extra mistakes. Remember that these patches were later removed because they allegedly made Pan unstable. - filterinfo contains untested changes for the errors as reported in this thread, regarding FilterInfo. These won't fix all problems, since the same "object containing itself" problem also exists for rules-info.h. My changes are no doubt very similar to joeg's. Initially I made them without reference to his version, and afterwards I did a quick review to see if I missed anything obvious (which I had). Perhaps people can check these versions and see how (in)stable they are for them.
