You can set the environment variable PAN_HOME in your user profile and
point it wherever you want; this works just fine. :)
I keep my home directory on a fileserver and this allows me to share the
settings between Linux and when I occasionally use Windows.
I fear I must play the dummy: Where do I find the "user profile"?
