I've never used stunnel, but that used to be the recommended solution, before pan's own secure connection support. AFAIK, it should be possible to setup additional tunnels as well, to work with additional servers. The key is to setup each one listening on a different local port, and then tell pan the correct local port to use for each one. The one known problem with that, is that pan's server dialog used to only show the host name in the list. Different ports could still be used and it would work, but they ended up in the list as all "localhost", since the ports didn't show up there. FWIW, that has now been fixed as well, the port shows up as well as the host name, so multiple localhost connections can be distinguished by port, but I don't think that's in a release, yet. > BTW I am running Mint 11 AMD64, and will keep it running as long as I > can. I did upgrade, but it was by switching to non-kde software in some cases, and in others, creating my own scripted solutions, etc. So I know the feeling. But I keep reading that the Mint's Cinnamon interface is quite good. Of course as I said I'm not a gnome person, so have little personal opinion except that neither gnome2 nor gnome3 are my thing, but the reviews all seem to indicate that cinnamon's a reasonably gnome2 like interface to gnome3. Like many upstream projects, pan's version releases are source tarballs.
