One thing that could happen is that the posting profile might be pointing to a different server than the server you're reading from. As I think about it, though, I've seen this issue (or one very like it) crop up from time to time. It seems there may be some sort of memory leak or memory corruption bug in pan that causes it to have trouble reading articles at some points, and when I try to continue and reply to a post, sometimes I get an error indicating the group doesn't exist (or something similar to that).
