Looks similar to what I did with MinGW - There is a Win32 readme that
comes with Pan that I ran through, and have built on it since then in
many random ways.
The hardest bit was getting "git" working as it relies on very
specific perl libraries.

Interesting. Well, it's easier for me then as I use linux ports of mingw
tools, and I compile with linux.
I compiled all of pan now and it works. The only thing that bothers me
is that i had to disable cryptography in gmime
as that solved a lot of compilation and dependency problems, for example
with glib2.0-sharp.
I deleted the iconv warning out of the configure file and used the flags
--disable-mono and --disable-cryptography.
After that, all went smoothly.
