I'm not sure if you slipped with that, or meant a different Charles, or haven't been keeping up, but in the event it's the latter and since a few others may see the announcement and wonder what's up, then find this thread, here's a brief explanation... FWIW, Charles (I assume you mean Charles Kerr) has, "for all in tents and porpoises" (^;= "moved on to other interests". You can read about it here if you sort the posts on his name (unthreaded, of course), and read the last few he posted, but basically, he said he no longer has reason or opportunity to use a news client regularly, and asked for someone else to take over pan's upstream maintainership and development. KHaley already had been accumulating patches in the git repository he originally cloned off of the official gnome git repo, but apparently isn't interested in getting that officially involved with gnome, so while we had what amounts to a lead developer, we didn't have an official maintainer. Which is where Petr Kovar steps in, as he was already an official gnome translator and thus has official access to the gnome repository, tho as I understand it he (like me) doesn't claim any particular developer skills. So we pretty much split the head dev duties from the head maintainer duties, with one person doing each, cooperating. =:^) Meanwhile, based on the posts (I've not actually checked the web site personally), it appears Petr has gotten a hold of Charles (last I knew I had posted, recommending that, but wasn't privy to it actually happening) and now has web site maintainership as well, thus the updates there. =:^) So, for links on the site, Petr is the guy to talk to now. I imagine he'll see this tho and update it. =:^) -- Duncan - List replies preferred. No HTML msgs. "Every nonfree program has a lord, a master -- and if you use the program, he is your master."
