First of all, profuse apologies for taking so long! Life has been difficult in various ways, electronic and otherwise -- and only now do I have a result worth reporting, or at least I hope it is. A day or three after I first posted, I read all the followups, went back to va.forsale, and tried to apply them -- stupidly somehow, I'm sure. Today, at last, I took it from the top again. I did all and only what the first paragraph above prescribes, or what appeared to be that -- after having called, as suggested, for *all* headers. (Nothing else got any.) Sure enough, there were nearly 5K of them, all without exception marked ignore. I started with the first, hit Remove, and then Close and Rescore. That un-ignored a bunch. I repeated the exercise, with each new ignored article, till none were left ignored. Now I can start over, trying to craft rules that are less Draconian, but still useful -- such as Ignore Thread. Any helpful hints? I do need to get reasonably skilled at this -- if only because I'm trying to dip into rec.food.cooking again ... -- Beartooth Staffwright, Neo-Redneck Not Quite Clueless Power User I have precious (very precious!) little idea where up is. _______________________________________________ Pan-users mailing list Pan-users@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pan-users
