True, but I do pine for them when I'm away from home.
When the uber-Kindle becomes available, sign me up for
it - especially if it allows me to stock it with used
books bought at library and garage book sales for peanuts
(the only way to collect 5,000 books if you aren't rich.)

But I appreciate your consternation here.  Keeping score,
as it were, with old books, mp3 files, ancient computer
games, match books, cigar bands, silver spoons, postage
stamps, toy soldiers, dolls, dried butterflies, photos of
birds, bottle caps, embossed napkins ... may seem like
something that only the Emperor Xymatvfg!ohq would
understand.
