OK! Gotcha! Using cat /home/joe/Documents/Usenetsig.txt gets nothing but a blank after the separator. Going back to the sigmonster gives me a doubled-sig. I think there's a way to put something like the time into the sig. If so, I'll try that for just long enough to see what's going on. Thanx to all of you for your assistance in any case.
