http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494667 That bug report for gtk includes a patch which fixes the gdk-pixbuf problem responsible for all our recent preview display troubles. At the moment the patch is still waiting to be committed but you can apply it to your own gtk package if you build from source.
